I made this dress twice actual. I made it once for FX show... lost about 40lb and then made it again for Dragon-con.The first time I drafted the patten myself and the second time I used the Simplicity pattern. The one thing I have to say about the simplicity pattern is it's extremely high waisted. I had to add 3" to the length of the bodice and I still think it was to short. I also didn't have as large as a hoop skirt as I should have had at dragon.(no room to pack it)
Also the simplicity pattern tells you the Bustle will be fine without tulle... I never should have listened. So my bustle was a bit limp as well.
Thoughts
I do like how the second dress came out. I wish I had gotten a chance to take pics with the fully puffed out bustle/larger hoop skirt before I sold it.Photo Credits
